KA1 - Study Visit "Open Up To See"


The Study Visit "Open Up to See" is a Erasmus+ Key Action 1 - Learning Mobility of Individuals co-financed by the Erasmus + Programme, that will take place in Setúbal, Portugal, from 29 June-5 July 2015. It will gather 24 youth workers, youth leaders and people that works with youth from Portugal, Albania, Armenia, Denmark, Egypt, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, UK and Norway.

The aim of the project is to explore and understand the role of youth work towards the consequences of youth unemployment in young people. Through non-formal education methodologies, the project will give youth workers the opportunity to visit innovative projects in Setúbal and Lisbon related to youth work, in the areas
of entrepreneurship and healthy behaviours; will also provide a space for sharing good practices and resources in order to establish future cooperation with the aim of working upon the consequences of youth unemployment.


  1. (A) To explore and discover the youth reality regarding youth unemployment in Portugal and partner countries;
  2. (B) To discuss and highlight the role of the NGOs concerning the consequences of youth unemployment;
  3. (C) Support youth workers to increase capacity in youth education about healthy behaviors;
  4. (D) Promote the development of entrepreneurship skills in the field of youth work;
  5. (E) Enhance perspectives for future sustainable Erasmus + projects regarding youth work in the field of youth self-development and youth empowerment.


  1. (A1) Understand the actual situation and identify the side effects of unemployment towards youth;
  2. (B1) Understand the importance and influence of the NGO’s and youth work in the personal development of the youngsters;
  3. (B2) Discover new good practices to be adapted to youth work of each country reality as a way to empower youngsters;
  4. (C1) Assimilate the importance of health behaviours in youth work and understand it’s impact (mental and physical) towards youth;
  5. (C2) Identify possible strategies, first steps and innovative ideas for involving healthy behaviours in youth work;
  6. (D1) Establish adequate methodologies to approach youth towards entrepreneurship;
  7. (D2) Inspire youth workers for engaging youth to entrepreneurship through the development of competences and self-development;
  8. (D3) Gaining wider perspectives regarding the use of resources from local community for providing the creation working
  9. opportunities;
  10. (E1) Discuss ideas for future projects creating concepts for future projects, emphasizing the sustainability of projects;
  11. (E2) Improve the quality and reliability of future partnerships, establishing common working methods and goals;


The project in a general form, intends the participants to acquire:

  • a positive awareness and understanding to other cultures and backgrounds;
  • knowledge that will allow them to develop their personal and professional life;
  • new perspectives and opinions upon the subjects of the project;
  • inspiration to involve youth in projects regarding healthy life-styles;
  • practical knowledge to engage youth to entrepreneurship;
  • new skills regarding communication.

  • youth workers/ volunteers/ youth leaders with some experience in their own organization;
  • participants with some knowledge regarding youth work and/or with NGO experience;
  • participants that want to develop their skills in order to increase efficiency and quality of their work;
  • participants that want to develop activities and support the organization they belong to.


  1. The project covers all expenses regarding travel (maximum lump sum per country, as mentioned in the info-pack), accommodation and food during the activity;
  2. Eligible participants with residence in the participating countries (+ 18);
  3. The activities will be conducted in English;
  4. Participants should be highly motivated to participate in the follow up activities;
  5. The participants must have high interest towards the topic, motivation to learn, and willing to engage an active role during and after the activity.
